Sripuram Golden Temple

The Golden Temple of Sripuram is a spiritual park located among the small green mountains of Thirumalaikodi, Vellore City, Tamil Nadu.

Vellore Fort

Vellore Fort is a large 16th-century fort made fully of granite stone situated in heart of the Vellore built by Vijayanagara kings.

It is mentioned that It had a deep wet ditch (moat) where once 10,000 crocodiles swarmed, waiting to grab every intruder into this fort and huge double walls with bastions projecting irregularly, where two carts can be driven abreast.

Thus it is one of the most perfect specimens of Military Architecture in South India.


Jalakandeswarar temple

Jalakandeswarar Temple is a temple dedicated toLord Shiva which is located in the Vellore Fort.

The specialty of the temple is that behind the Nandi statue, there is an earthen lamp, which is said to revolve when some people place their hands on it.

The revolving is said to indicate that their wishes have been granted. Some devotees of the temple worship the golden and silver lizard sculptures and the snake sculptures in order to get relief from 'sarpa dosham'.
